REASONS FOR COMBINING PSYCHOLOGY AND YOGA

EVERYONE WHO STUDIED PSYCHOLOGY AT ANY UNIVERSITY KNOWS IT’S A LONG AND HARD PROCESS. AT THE END ONLY WHEN YOU START TO WORK IN YOUR FIELD YOU BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED ALL THOSE YEARS. FOR ME THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON WAS TO LEARN HOW TO REALLY LISTEN TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING AND HOW TO REALLY SEE AND LOOK AT SOMEONE. 

WHAT I SAW WAS:
1. WITHOUT TRUE EMPATHY NOTHING IN MY LINE OF WORK HAS ANY MEANING.
2. THE ONLY THING THAT ALLOWS TRUE EMPATHY IS THE ABILITY TO REALLY LISTEN AND SEE. 
3. BECAUSE I SAW AND REALLY LISTENED I UNDERSTOOD THAT WITHOUT CONSIDERING THE BODY I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HEAL THE SOUL. MORE THAN THAT A BROKEN SOUL WILL ALWAYS AFFECT THE BODY'S HEALTH. 

SO WHAT DID I DO?
I STARTED TO ASK MYSELF WHAT DOES IT MEAN: "A HEALTHY BODY"?  YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND I PUT MYSELF THROUGH UNIVERSITY BY WORKING IN A GYM. SO I HAD ACCESS TO ALL KINDS OF SPORTS AND PEOPLE WHO WORK OUT ALL THEIR LIFE. I STARTED TO USE THE SKILLS I LEARNED AND BELIEVED IN. I STARTED TO LOOK AT THE PEOPLE WORKING OUT, TO LISTEN TO THEM AND  I STARTED WORKING OUT MYSELF. I TRIED EVERY KIND OF SPORTS, BECAUSE I WANTED TO SEE AND LEARN. I CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT JUST WORKING OUT DOES NOT HEAL YOUR BODY. MORE THAN THAT PEOPLE WHO WORK OUT AT THE GYM DO NOT NECESSARILY HAVE A HEALTHIER SOUL!
 
THE REASONS ARE SIMPLE:
1. MOST OF THE PEOPLE WORK OUT BECAUSE THEY FEEL THEY HAVE TO AND NOT BECAUSE, THEY WANT TO. AS A RESULT THEY ARE NOT CONSIDERING THEIR STATE OF EMOTION (THEIR SOUL).
2. SOME PEOPLE WORKING OUT ARE STARVING THEMSELVES. THEY DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ENOUGH. AS A RESULT THEY EXHAUST THEIR BODY AND SOUL.
3. SOME PEOPLE WORK OUT AGGRESSION AND TENSIONS OF THEIR DAILY LIFE ONLY AT THE GYM. AS A RESULT THEY COULD HURT THEIR BODY BY TRAINING OVER THEIR LIMITS. 
SO WHAT COULD BE A SOLUTION?
THE MAIN IDEA FOR COMBINING BODY AND SOUL IS TO HELP PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU CANT HEAL YOUR BODY ONLY BY TRAINING YOUR HEART OUT AND YOU CANT HEAL YOUR SOUL BY ONLY SITTING AND TALKING ABOUT YOUR PAIN AND NOT REALIZING THAT YOU HAVE TO GET UP AND MAKE A CHANGE. MORE THAN THAT, THE PAIN IN YOUR SOUL COULD LEAD YOU TO STRESS AND STRESS EXHAUSTS YOUR BODY MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE IN THIS LIFE. SO IF YOU WANT TO BE TRULY HEALTHY AND STRONG YOU HAVE TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF BOTH. YOU HAVE TO RELEASE STRESS IN YOUR SOUL AND IN YOUR BODY.
THAT’S WHY COMBINING PSYCHOLOGY WITH YOGA IS A GOOD WAY TO MAKE YOURSELF AWARE OF WHAT YOUR BODY AND SOUL TRULY NEED. AFTER THAT YOU CAN KEEP ON DOING ANY SPORT YOU LIKE BUT YOGA AND PSYCHOLOGY ARE THE BASIC OUR BODY AND SOUL IS BUILD ON.

PSYCHOLOGY FORCES YOU TO LOOK AT YOURSELF AND HELPS YOU TO UNDERSTAND WHERE IT HURTS IN YOUR SOUL AND WHY!

YOGA FORCES YOU TO LOOK AT YOUR BODY AND HELPS YOU TO UNDERSTAND WHERE IT HURTS IN YOUR BODY AND WHY!

PSYCHOLOGY AND YOGA HAVE THE SAME BASIC PRINCIPLES:
• INNER FOCUS  (DRISHTI)
• A STRONG STOMACH (BHANDA)
• RELEASE STRESS BY EXCEPTING THAT CHANGE IS A PROCESS (PRANAYAMA)
• STAY IN MOTION, BECAUSE CHANGE DOES NOT HAPPEN BY STANDING STILL (VINIYASA)
